We are focussing on the ways to increase the speed of entering the data into the mobile devices. During this reasearch we have come across the ways in which we can increase the speed of data entry.
We we enter data into a mobile, two operations we perform
1. Searching the character
2. Entering the character into the mobile.
We try to make it as a parallel option by just attaching the snapshot of the mobile keyboard adjacent to the mobile. This can be used as an addon to do the activity parallely.
This attachement can be an add on , whenever required can be pulled
out while data entry and pushed while not using.
Entering data
The user can use place his finger on the 5 number digit (centre of mobile) and then looking at the display he can start operating it without seeing the mobile). There we two advantages of it.
1. Since the display was far. size of the keyboard picture could made
as required. This will help in identifiying the character faster .
2. The learning of the user is faster. Getting used to this system
will make him enter the data faster with more confidence.
Disadvantages
1. Initial to get used to the system , it takes some time. Mistakes
would be more intially, because you are trying entry data without seeing.
2. The space character has to be accomidated within the 9 possible
keys which else it reduces the speed.
Focus of my Reasearch.
I am focusing on Human-Computer-Interaction to increase the speed of
data entry into the palm and mobile devices. My previous papers I foussed
more on developing algorthims for character recongnition. But now I am
focussing on HCI for making the data entry faster.
