If we can find out all the ways a particular problem can be solved, then one solution can turn out to be simpler than other.
One of such problem was Handwritten Character Recognition. The problem is recognition of the character written. If we try to solve the problem, we can approach it in two ways
1. To think the written character has an image and try to recognize the image. 2. If you don’t take it has an image , then how does a person can recognize it. This lead to the concept of trying out teaching a blind man, how to recognize a character. As he learns write the algorithm, as he fails find out the reason for his failure and try to implement those corrective steps he takes to improve his recognition. The whole concept of character recognition is based on
Think yourself as blind and try to learn a new language. Try to record the experiences you encounter and how you are able to recognize a character successfully. Try to list all the problems you face and the solution you tried for it. Mark your success rate also. That's it , just convert your experiences and the way you learnt the language into a program.
This is first paper which I presented and started my work in handwritten character recognition

SEGMENTATION AT THE INTERSECTION POINT
generating segments in online handwritten character recognition
The below file presents a simple concept to break the offline handwritten character into segments for better recognition , it is based on

CAN A COMPUTER ANALYSE AND SAY WHAT A IMAGE REPRESENTS
The solution to this question is the Problem: How to make a blind man to recognize what an image represents . If we can make a blind man to do it, then yes a computer can analyze and say what a image represents.
Applying the BLIND MAN’S PRINCIPLE , we can try to find a solution to this problem. If we try to do that then what all information the blind man has to be provided with like the scenario in which the image was taken, what all possible things can be present in that scenario and the description of each possible thing. Then it is possible for him to come out with some sort of description of the image.
